Nigerians, family, friends and acquaintances of a popular Abuja-based chef and Creative Director of Helenes Food Company, Chef Emeka Eloagu, have been thrown into mourning and grief as the hospitality businessman was murdered in cold blood in a mysterious event.
Reports broke on the streets of social media as his friends and family took to their pages to lament their loss, praying that whomsoever killed him, sending him to the great beyond in his prime know no peace.
While the cause of his death remains uncertain, an account by some of his friends claims he was stabbed to death by assailants who gained access into his home. Another account claims the deceased was killed by four masked persons who he granted access to his apartment. They allegedly stripped him naked, tied him up, and then strangled him.
A friend, however, reportedly reached out to an Instagram blogger, righting some of the reports. According to the friend, the perpetrators of the evil act were two and not four as said, and they were not masked. Adding that Chef Emeka had been his friend for years, he added that the killers are people Chef Emeka knew and he was the one who cleared them on entry and opened the door for them.
A distorted audi sent via WhatsApp stated that there was no stab wound or a gun scar on his body, insinuating that he was either strangled or injected.
Confirming the death, the Federal Capital Territory Police spokesperson, Mariam Yusuf said that the Police was still investigating the case to ascertain the exact cause of Chef Emeka Eloagu’s death.

Chef Emeka Eloagu is a popular chef based in Abuja, and the Creative Director of Helenes Food Company, an Abuja-based Gourmet Food Company, which serves Nigerian and French cuisine. With the mission of giving luxury of fine dining at the comfort of his customer’s home, Chef Emeka’s Helenes Food Co aims to gratify their customer’s taste buds and leave them wanting more. Nigerian singer Waje and some other celebrities have keyed into his brand to patronise.
Chef Emeka was born on the 24th of April, 1986 and to celebrate his 35th birthday, he launched a cookbook titled ’35 Easy Recipes For You To Cook’.

An alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu Paris with a Grande Diplomé in Cuisine and Patisserie. Emeka Eloagu was reputed for combining French cooking methods with Nigerian cuisines.
Once describing himself, the deceased said he “believes in the artistry of food. He believes good food connects us with people and places and is an important aspect of cultural heritage. He enjoys traveling the world, learning”.
Chef Emeka is survived by his wife, who according to reports, found his body in their Abuja home, and family members.
