Suspected cattle rustlers have reportedly killed 3 policemen at Maraban-Udege village in Nasarawa state on Sunday.
The state police public relations officer, Mr. Samaila Usman confirmed the devastating news in Lafia, the state capital.
The 3 policemen were reportedly ambushed and killed on their way to avoid an impending crisis between Agatu farmers and herdsmen.
Usman also noted that the command had mobilised a reinforcement team, led by an assistant commissioner of police to fish out the cop killers. He said the corpses of the policemen, an inspector, a sergeant and a corporal had been recovered and deposited at a morgue.
The state governor, Umaru Al-Makura,condoled with the police over the tragic killings. He said the need for residents in the state to bury their differences and work for peace and harmonious co-existence.
