South African hip-hop artists, Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C have been nominated for the 2018 Headies Awards.
The “My Nigga” rappers will be going head-to-head with Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee and Kenyan pop band Sauti Sol in the “Best African Artiste” category.
Headies organisers in a statement released today, said the category would honour an individual artiste or group with the most outstanding achievement, impact, and infiltration into the Nigerian music scene in the year under review (July 2016 – December 2017).
Davido led the nominations for the 12th Headies Awards with six, he’s followed by Wizkid, Olamide and Simi who all received five nominations each. This year’s Headies awards ceremony will hold on May 5, at Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.
