Cardi B Shuts Down Claims That She Pays For Her Songs To Hit No 1

Rapper Cardi B has shut down claims that she uses payola to boost the success of her singles. The rapper in an Instagram post shut down the claims mentioning that people constantly cook up lies to diminish her success.


On Monday the hip-hop star made history as her newest single “Up” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the first female rapper with two Hot 100 No. 1s with no supporting artists. While many people congratulated Cardi on her new accomplishments, others accused her of using payola the illegal practice of bribing a radio station to increase airplay to chart her singles.

Cardi shared that she doesn’t have the same radio play as many of her counterparts because of how explicit her songs are but people still spin the same tale. The mother of one mentioned that she will address all the tales in her new album.
