Nigerians were reminded of the “thug-life” that reigned for years at the country’s top legislative chamber, as a gang of hoodlums invaded the plenary meeting of the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday, 18th of April, before they forcefully took the legislative mace away.
The thugs broke into the Red chamber while the Senate were holding Wednesday’s plenary meeting,thereby sparking serious confusion and tension.
According to Daily Post, the efforts of the Sergeant-At-Arms, to retrieve the mace from the hoodlums proved abortive, as they easily made away with the Senate’s most prized insignia in broad daylight. Consequently, the senate will no longer be able to hold any plenary meeting till the mace is retrieved.
