“Burna Is Still A Champion”, Rapper AKA Swallows Pride, Celebrates Burna Boy

The icing on the cake that everyone has been waiting for has finally landed and this time, South African rapper AKA disappointed almost every one waiting for his reaction about about Burna Boy and The Grammy Awards 2020.
Recall that the African Giant and the rapper had clashes during the Xenophobic attacks launched against Nigerians in South Africa and have since then seemingly been against each other. People would have expected the rapper to shade Burna seriously after loosing the Best World Music Album to Beninise singer Angelique Kidjo."Burna Is Still A Champion", Rapper AKA Swallows Pride, Celebrates Burna Boy
In the stead of diss, however, AKA kept mute on the issue but still, Nigerians will not let him be. As it seems, a tweep, who had deleted his tweet, had called him out, maybe to ask about his opinion on the loss. Replying, AKA noted that he never hated the Ye crooner but had to stand up for his country. Stating that it is time to move past the xenophobia narrative as it is tiring, he celebrated Burna for being nominated, saying the nomination is a huge achievement. “I never hated Burna Boy. All I did was stand up for my country. I think it’s time to move past this narrative. It’s tired. Like I said, even a nomination is a huge achievement“, he tweeted.

As if his reply is not enough, in another deleted tweet, a tweep attacked his reply. Showing maturity, AKA declared Burna a champion, and speaking on behalf of South Africans, he noted that the Giant of Africa is still considered a winner over there. “What you should have done is focus on the positive instead of thinking about me and my country. In any case, Burna is still a champion. We still consider him a winner“, he wrote."Burna Is Still A Champion", Rapper AKA Swallows Pride, Celebrates Burna BoyPhotos Credit: Twitter
