There is no better name nor title more befitting to use to introduce the true Odogwu, superstar international music sensation Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy than the self-giving name ‘The African Giant’. A few years ago the singer crowned himself this name and it sparked up a lot of controversy on social media but today we can say that he saw the future before the rest of us.
The singer last night went home with his first Grammy award after his album “Twice As Tall” won the Best Global Music Album category. The album becomes the first Nigerian album to win a Grammy and the first Afrobeats album to win a Grammy. Last night while delivering his acceptance speech he dedicated the award to every of all the young new generation of African all over the world.

Burna Boy rose to fame in 2012 from his hit single “Like To Party” which was a monster hit and party favourite when it was released. He released his debut studio album L.I.F.E on 12 August 2013 and has gone on to put out 6 more amazing projects in the last 7 years. On a spaceship, Redemption, Outside, Steel and Copper, African Giant, Twice As Tall. He sold out the O2 Academy Brixton in 2018 with an amazing performance.
Burna Boy’s Grammy nomination came after he launched his fourth studio album ‘African Giant’ in 2019, a 16-track piece of work, earning him huge international recognitions and awards. Burna Boy Twice as Tall album produced by Diddy came out in November 2020.
