Nigerian music superstar, Damini Ogulu, famously known by his stage name Burna Boy, is tipped to nab another award tonight as he was been nominated for Best International Male Artist for the BRIT Award 2020 holding tonight at the O2 in London.
Burna Boy was nominated together with Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Tyler The Creator, Dermot Kennedy, and Post Malone. This follows after the Grammy nomination that Burna Boy received form his critically acclaimed album, African Giant.
Burna Boy got his second nomination in the ‘Song of the Year’ category after featuring on Dave’s hit single ‘Location‘.
The BRIT Award 2020 is the 40th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards and is being hosted by Jack Whitehall for the third year running. Nominations are led by British rapper of Nigerian descent, Dave and singer, Lewis Capaldi.
Burna Boy launched his talent in Britain in 2020 when he collaborated with British artists like Dave, Mahalia, Jorja Smith (twice), Wretch 32 and Stormzy. The song from the collaboration also charted within the top 10 of the Official UK Singles chart.
