Buhari Won’t Be Judged Based On Infrastructure But On Insecurity – Mimiko

Former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, weighs in on the recent issue about President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement about some persons trying to stagnate the country’s development by destroying infrastructure and raining insurrection on the country. The ex-governor in his opinion said the Buhari administration should worry less about infrastructure because its administration wouldn’t be judge based on that rather based on insecurity. Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko said this in Abuja on Tuesday at the 71st birthday celebration of a former member of the House of Representatives, Joseph Akinlaja, and at the book launching titled, ‘Labour, Politics and Grace.’

The former governor stated, “Mr President will not be judged by the number of kilometres of standard gauge railway; history will not judge his accomplishment through the Second Niger Bridge, but to what extent he rises up and addresses insecurity in our nation. This is the time to face our challenges as a nation and we shall conquer.”

The former governor also said that the National Assembly was incapacitated to repeal the 1999 Constitution, calling for additional powers that will enable the parliament to initiate a new Constitution.
