Ayodele Fayose has said the negative foundation laid by past leaders, which include Buhari, is the major reason behind Nigeria’s economic problems.
“It appears President Buhari has forgotten that he is also among the past leaders of Nigeria because blaming past leaders for the country’s economic problems amounts to blaming himself,” said the governor of Ekiti State. “The negative foundation the likes of President Buhari laid caused the problems of the country.”

Buhari succeeded Goodluck Jonathan to become President of Nigeria in 2015. The retired major general in the Nigerian Army, served as the nation’s head of state from December 31 1983 to August 27 1985, after taking power in a military coup d’état.

Buhari told British Prime Minister Theresa May in London on Monday, that he’s bothered more about security and economy as the country prepare for the 2019 elections.
“We campaigned on three major issues, to secure the country, revive the economy and fight corruption,” said the President. “We have elections next year, politicians are already preoccupied with the polls, but I am bothered more about security and the economy,” he stressed.
