President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed former Super Eagles player and Nigerian Football Ambassador, Daniel Amokachi, has been appointed as Special Assistant on Sports.
Recall that the The former Everton forward was earlier in the year named Nigeria’s Football Ambassador, expected to mentor youngsters and promote the game at the grassroots.
In the appointment letter dated 17th August, and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, Daniel Amokachi’s appointment takes effect from August 11, 2020.

“I am pleased to inform you that Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved your appointment as Special Assistant on Sports“, the letter reads in part. The President’s media aide Bashir Ahmad also affirmed the appointment in a tweet.
