President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in the House of Representatives chamber, the venue of the 2022 Appropriation Bill laying ceremony. The president arrived at the NASS complex at 12.05 pm with top government officials and a retinue of aides to the waiting lawmakers at the House of Representatives.
He was immediately received by the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. The president will formally present a budget proposal of N16.39trn to the lawmakers for onward review and approval.
The president is also expected to speak on the following among others: 1. the 2020 budget performance 2. Insecurity across the country 3. The economic crisis with regards to crude oil price 4. The COVID-19 pandemic.
