Pres. Buhari Removes Adamu Appoints New Inspector-General Of Police (IGP)

According to reports coming out of the National State House in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the removal of Mohammad Adamu as the Inspector-General of Police, with his immediate replacement DIG Usman Alkali Baba to take over as the Acting Inspector General of police. DIG Usman Alkali will replace Adamu as the new acting Inspector-General of Police. This was made public in a statement released by the Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi during a press briefing at the State House to correspondents on Tuesday.

The President had on the 4th of February, extended the tenure of Mohammad Adamu as the Inspector General of Police for three months, but with the new announcement that has been truncated which means the outgoing IGP has spent two months and three days in the extension. #EndSARS Protests Is To Demoralise You, Protect Yourselves - IGP Tells Policemen

The new announcement comes after the Imo State Police Headquarters was attacked in the early hours of Monday morning April 5, 2021, leaving police properties worth billions of naira destroyed. New Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba
