Britain’s Heir Apparent, Prince Charles Celebrate His 70th Birthday

The Prince of Wales and Queen Elizabeth’s eldest son, Prince Charles Philip Arthur George was born at Buckingham Palace on Nov. 14, 1948, four years before his now 92-year-old mother ascended to the throne following the death of her father George VI.

Heartwarming family photographs of the heir apparent with his sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren were released in honour of the birthday. The five princes, three duchesses and one princess are all coloured-co-ordinated and wearing shades of blue and white.

To mark his birthday, Prince Charles will attend a special tea party heralding 70 inspirational people who also turned 70 this year. The family will later today celebrate the 70th with a glamorous private evening party hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
