Nicki Minaj set out on a quest to #BreakTheInternet last night with her new Paper magazine cover. Photographed by Ellen von Unwerth, three versions of Minaj have a “Minaj à Trois” on the cover, with one sitting topless and the other two touching her suggestively.
But while Minaj’s risque cover was plenty attention-grabbing, it wasn’t the first Paper cover to cause a Web frenzy: Kim Kardashian’s booty-baring cover in 2014 was the initial #BreakTheInternet attempt (and successfully so). Kardashian’s cover, photographed by Jean-Paul Goude, was scandalous because she was fully nude — but with Minaj’s seductive positions on the latest Paper image, it’s certainly debatable.
