The embattled data company at the center of Facebook’s viral data scandal, Cambridge Analytica, has filed for bankruptcy in a New York court on Thursday.

The company voluntarily filed for bankruptcy after it lost its reputation and integrity in the global data row. Cambridge Analytica listed its assets in the range of $100,001 to $500,000 and liabilities in the range of $1 million to $10 million.
Cambridge Analytica and its British parent firm, SCL Elections Ltd disclosed earlier in the month that they would shut down immediately and begin bankruptcy proceedings after suffering a heavy loss after the Facebook data scandal.
