Senator Omo Agege, the suspended lawmaker – who allegedly led a gang of hoodlums to steal the legislative mace in the Red chamber on Wednesday morning – has been arrested by Nigerian Police Force.
The sudden arrest is coming barely three hours after the senate gave all security agencies a 24-hour ultimatum to retrieve the stolen mace.
Senator Omo-Agege was given a 90-day legislative suspension on the 11th of April for rising against the new electoral law adopted by the Senate to attack President Buhari’s 2019 election bid.
Senator Omo- Agege was also asked to withdraw his lawsuit against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Senate from the court as part of the conditions to forgive him at the end of his suspension.
