Breaking: Former South Korean President, Park Geun-Hye, Has Been Sentenced To 24-Years In Jail

Former South Korean female President, Park Geun-hye, has been sentenced to jail for 24 years, after she was found guilty of abuse of power and bribery.
In her trial, which was broadcasted on live television today, the Seoul Central District Court pronounced the verdict despite the fact she did not attend the trial.
The court decided that Park Geun-hye connived with her old friend, Choi Soon-sil, to launder funds won from global conglomerates like Samsung, to aid Choi’s family in funding a non-profit foundation.
South Korean Prosecutors wanted a 30-year sentence and a $112 million fine for Park, after indicting her on charges that included bribery, abuse of power and coercion. Shen might still appeal the judgement at the country’s supreme court.Photo Credit: Getty
