Breaking! Embattled Senator Peter Nwaoboshi Granted Bail

New reports emerging confirm that embattled senator, Peter Nwaoboshi has been granted bail.

Nwaoboshi, was granted bail by The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos. The judge in charge of the case also ordered that the Senator present two sureties, who must come up with a N50 million bond within 72 hours or the bail will be revoked.  Nwaoboshi, was also ordered to drop his international passport with the court as he is not permitted to travel out of the country without permission. The senator had on Wednesday, April 25, been remanded in prison following his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of fraud.  Nwaboshi, who represents Delta North district at the National Assembly, was arraigned on a two counts charge of alleged fraud by EFCC. He was picked up and arraigned over the purchase of a property identified as Guinea House located on Marine Road, Apapa-Lagos. EFCC, claims that the fund used in buying the property was gotten from an unlawful act of fraud. Nwaoboshi and Golden Touch Construction Projects Limited and Suiming Electricals Nigeria Limited, were both charged.  Photo Credit: Various
