Brazil’s President, Bolsonaro Speaks On Post Covid-19 Complications, As Wife Tests Positive

Brazil’s President, Jair Bolsonaro has spoken about his experience with the coronavirus and the present complications he faces following his time in isolation.

Brazil President, Jair BolsonaroSpeaking during his weekly Facebook live address, the 65-year-old noted that since his recovery from the virus, he has developed complications from antibiotics taken for an undisclosed illness.

He said: “I’ve just taken a blood exam. I was a bit weak yesterday. They have also found a bit of an infection. I’m taking antibiotics now. It must have been those 20 days inside the house, we catch other things. I’ve caught mold, mold in my lungs. It must be that.”

His wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, the Science and Technology Minister on Thursday, July 30 also tested positive to the virus.

Speaking during his address on Thursday about his illness and eventual recovery, Brazil’s president who has often dismissed the seriousness of the virus said the following words.

“I’m healed from COVID. I have antibodies, no problems. In my particular case, I first thank God, and secondly, the medication prescribed by the presidential doctor: hydroxychloroquine.

“The following day, I was already OK. If it was a coincidence or not, I don’t know. But it works.”Photo Credit: Getty
