Brazilian playmaker, Fred has completed his £52 million move from Shakhtar Donetsk to Manchester United.
The central midfielder was given time off from Brazil’s World Cup preparations to have his medical at Carrington on Monday.
The management of Shaktar Donetsk are currently completing the paperwork for the big-money deal and Manchester United are set to officially announce the deal.
His former manager, Mircea Lucescu confirmed the deal, saying: “I’m really pleased Fred has completed his transfer to Manchester United. I am proud of him. When I signed him at Shakhtar, Taison and Bernard were playing in his position. I transformed his position, giving him a more defensive role.”
Brazil National team Manager, Tite, also confirmed that Fred was given some time off to solve his club future. He said: “When this happens, and it is inevitable, they are going to come to us and our advice to them is resolve this as soon as you can so your head is back with us and focusing on the national team“.
