Boris Johnson Rallies To Become New British PM When Theresa May Leaves Office In June

Former foreign minister, ex-mayor of London and leading Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson has confirmed on Thursday he would be vying for the post of Prime Minister when Theresa May quits next month. He said: “Of course I’m going to go for it”. This decision comes as little surprise as Johnson, one of Britain’s most identifiable politicians known simply as “Boris”, has long been known to want the top job. Although May has promised to step down once the first stage of Britain’s exit from the European Union is secured, many are however not sure about this as there have been many delays concerning Brexit. At a meeting of senior members of her Conservative party on Thursday, May resisted growing demands to set out a detailed plan for her departure right now. Photo Credit: Getty
