Bobby Shmurda Eligible For Release From Prison In February

Hip-hop star Bobby Shmurda might be out of prison in February according to reports from police officials. The rapper has been serving a seven-year sentence for conspiracy and weapons possession at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora in upstate New York.

The 26-year-old rapper pleaded guilty in connection with his membership in the GS9 gang of East Flatbush. He was arrested in 2014 outside a recording studio in Midtown and police found two guns and crack cocaine in the car he was in.

He was up for parole in September but was denied as a result of disciplinary actions for behavior while in prison. The state Department of Correction subsequently restored his credit for good behavior. Bobby is now eligible for release on Feb. 23,2020 and will serve the rest of his sentence on parole through Dec. 11,2020. His lawyer, Alex Spiro was quoted saying “I’m glad he is coming home. Fans of the rapper are super excited about the news.
