The Zazu Zey singer hails from a Muslim background and due to the fact that he was born and bred in Abeokuta, he is very fluent in the Yoruba language which is very prominent in the lyrics of his songs. While growing up he was influenced by rap music of American singers such as Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., and Snoop Dogg, which he listened to on his father’s audio cassette player while still in elementary school. He adored these musicians and began writing rap songs anytime he felt inspired. Portable was overcome with grief as he bent down and clutched Olamide’s knees, weeping uncontrollably. Fortunately for young talent, Olamide saw his potential and invited him to collaborate with dancer and recording artist Poco Lee on an ongoing collaboration.
