The Federal Government’s plan to negotiate amnesty terms with the deadliest terrorist sect in the history of Nigeria is definitely getting more criticisms that praises, as the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has joined thew league of groups pressurizing the President to reconsider his decision.
The Biafran group recognized the new move was a confirmation that the current administration was in a collaboration with the extremely dangerous terrorist group. IPOB also reminded Nigerians of the earlier claim by the Federal Government, stating that Boko Haram had been defeated.
In a press statement released on Monday, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, said: “How come they are negotiating permanent ceasefire with Boko Haram? Are we now to believe that Boko Haram was not defeated in the first place? It is not a surprise to us that the President Buhari- led APC government is now seeking to acknowledge publicly what they have been doing in secret all along, which is, granting early release and amnesty to confirmed killers and terrorists.”
