Benue State COVID-19 patient Susan Idoko has threatened to sue the NCDC if she is not released from the Abuja isolation center in the next seven days.
Recall that KOKO TV recalled how Susan was moved to Abuja Isolation centre from Benue and had refused to be treated if she was not shown her test result.
She revealed in a video she shared that since she has been placed on isolation, she has not been given any medication, neither was she feeling unwell and at such, does not have COVID-19. She has been in isolation for 53 days without showing any symptoms of the disease and now, wants to be discharged.
The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire had on Wednesday, said Susan Idoko has refused to let the NCDC and other medical personnel take her samples so they can do a final test on her before she is discharged.
He later reported on Friday that the UK returnee had agreed and had her samples taken for the test after much persuasion and the result will be out in a couple of days.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Friday, her lawyer, Mr. Steven Eke noted that the continued detention of Susan Idoko in the name of isolation is a clear violation of her fundamental human rights and she will not hesitate to sue the NCDC if it persists. He added that his client has lost confidence in the capabilities of the NCDCand demands an independent test to be conducted by the World Health Organization under the supervision of the British High Commission and her personal physician.
