Belgium Vs France: Team News, H2H, Lineup And Start Time


The 2018 World Cup quarterfinal games will begin with Belgium facing France on Tuesday (7 pm) at the Saint Petersburg Stadium.

Both sides are still unbeaten in the tournament having played five games each in Russia. Belgium are the most attacking semifinalists with 14 goals which include four from Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku. France have netted nine times in Russia and their forwards Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe are credited with three goals each.

Belgium beat 5-time champions Brazil 2-1 at the Kazan Arena, while France defeated an Uruguay side without Edinson Cavani 2-0 to reach Russia 2018 semifinals. Tuesday’s match will be the first competitive meeting between France and Belgium since the 1986 World Cup, when France won 4-2 in the third-place playoff.

Belgium will aim to reach the final in their second semifinal appearance, after their defeat against Argentina in the 1986 tournament won by the South American side.

Belgium will be without their right wing-back, Thomas Meunier who serves a one-match ban for two yellow cards, while France’s Blaise Matuidi is available again after serving a one-match suspension. Tuesday’s fixture will be the 74th meeting between the two nations, with Belgium claiming 30 wins in comparison to 24 victories for France.
