Belgium Coach Says Umtiti’s Header Was “Terrible” For His Side!

Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez admits their quarterfinal game with France was decided on a small detail.

Romelu Lukaku and his team-mates failed to score in a match for the first time since they kicked off their 2018 World Cup campaign in Russia, as they suffer 1-0 defeat against France in Saint Petersburg. France defender, Samuel Umtiti’s header was enough to see his side progress to the final.

“The match was very close and it was decided on a small detail,” explained Martinez in his post-match interview. “It’s terrible for us to lose from a goal at a corner kick. The attitude of the players was excellent, and that’s what we have to remember, they gave everything until the last second.” Belgium had beaten Brazil in the quarterfinals before suffering a “close” defeat against their European neighbor on Tuesday night. France will face the winner of the game between England and Croatia in the final on Sunday.
