When the Bible says a believer must not have more than one Lord, it is believed that one is supposed to serve the Lord only and not the devil. A Nigerian Pastor has however, thrown more light into the statement for his church members, throwing them however, into confusion.
A video surfaced online of Pastor Charles Osasuwa, the founder of Rock of Ages Christian Assembly Inc, lecturing his members of how being a tenant is a sin.
According to him, God is a jealous God and people who have landlords have more than one Lord, which God doesn’t approve of. He was heard explaining that a tenant is always at the mercy of his landlord and any Christian who is a one should free himself from the bondage.
Advising his members, Pastor Charles stated that they should begin plans to have their own house(s) once they begin to make money. This, he noted, doesn’t mean they need to have a very big and elegant one but one they can call their, so as to avoid sinning to God.
He noted further that any church that is rented is not also fit for worship as the Church too has two Lords, as against the Word of God.
“The tenant is always at the mercy of the landlord. The landlord can call the tenant anytime and he can request to use his apartment anytime. The Christian who is a tenant should work towards freeing himself from the second Lord which is the Landlord. A church that operates in a rented apartment is having two lords.
