Each of us wants to look as best as possible in the shortest possible time. Each lady yearns for beauty tips that will help her to have more beautiful skin, shiny hair and stronger nails. These are so important to every lady’s life, if so agreed. So henceforth, every Thursday will be dedicated to ‘Our Beauty’. We will be sharing tips, steps and procedures on how to enhance our general body beauty, taking one part of the body per week.
On today’s episode, the lips are the target! Just like our eyes, our lips also enhance the attractiveness of our face. Soft luscious and kissable lips are every girl’s dream. But unfortunately, due to pollution, use of harsh cosmetics and some other factors, the lips tend to turn dark and pale, losing its natural beauty. Then, we tend to depend on make-up to patch it up.
Getting your lips back to their beautiful, plumpy, healthy and succulent state is not a hard journey, only if you can be dedicated to these simple yet effective measures.
- Keep Lips Hydrated: To retain the natural color of lips, it is essential that you maintain hydration levels by drinking plenty of water throughout the day to retain. This maintains the natural moisture of your lips, especially during winters. Also, high water-content foods should be added to your diet, like fruits such as cucumber, watermelon, orange, grapefruit and lemon. You will be surprised how effective these can be.
- Don’t lick them!: Saliva tends to further dry out the moisture on the lips, rather than add to them. Dermatologists advise not to lick the lips because in the process, they get dried the more and this can lead to dark lips. Handy moisturizing lip balm should be kept at all times and used in case the lips are getting dried, in the stead of licking or biting.
- Exfoliate at least once a week: Skin cells undergo constant self replacement process, to keep out dead cells and make the skin soft and supple. But when this layer isn’t completely shed, your skin looks dead and pale. This same thing is applicable to the lips, hence, it is advised to exfoliate (remove the dead cells) at least one in a week. Olive oil mixed with sugar is a very good natural exfoliator. Once you rinse off after about 10minutes, apply lips moisturizer to keep the lips hydrated. Surprisingly this one of the most favored of the beautiful lips tips.
- Use more of home-made natural formulation: Too many chemicals can be harsh on the lips and can cause various reactions. That is why the use of natural tips and mixtures are advisable. They are easy to implement and are all-natural. Check out some of the formulations below:
a. Cinnamon Oil: Mix 10 drops of cinnamon essential oil (nourishing almond or jojoba oil can be used instead) with your lip gloss well. Apply on the lips like the normal lip gloss. This will help the lips to be more plumpy and pinker.
b. Almond Oil and Honey: Mix the two together and apply on the lips. Massage gently while applying and leave on your lips overnight.
c. Vaseline: Apply Vaseline mixed with olive oil 3-4 times daily to get rid of dry and chapped lips.
d. Lime juice and Glycerin: Mix the lime juice with glycerin and apply overnight to get lighter and pinker lips. Use on a regular basis for effectiveness.
Till Thursday when we discuss Beauty again, stay lippicious!
