Be Afraid! Messi Scores Hat-Trick In World Cup Warm-Up Win Against Haiti

All hail captain Messi!

Argentinian national team skipper, Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick with Sergio Aguero also on target as they beat Haiti in a World Cup warm-up match in Buenos Aires on Tuesday night (May 29). The friendly game also saw Messi’s former Barcelona team-mate Javier Mascherano joining Javier Zanetti on 143 caps as Argentina’s leading appearance maker – and the 33-year-old was presented with a commemorative shirt by Argentina FA president Claudio Tapia.

Jorge Sampaoli’s side face Israel next week (June 9) in their second and final match before their 2018 World Cup campaign starts on June 16 in Russia. Argentina face Iceland first before taking on Croatia and Nigeria as Messi eye his first ever World Cup silverware, having lost to Germany in the 2014 final pos the tournament.
