The Presidency has confirmed that the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari has passed away yesterday 17th April, 2020.
“The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari. The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.
May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly, Femi Adesina, President Buhari’s spokesman,” said in a statement.

Also confirming, the Presidency’s SSA, Media & Publicity took disclosed that the CoS passed away yesterday as he’s been receiving treatment for Coronavirus. “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari. The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020. May God accept his soul. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly”, his tweets reads.
