Nigerian film Producer and lawyer Ayo Shonaiya has reacted to the death of former Nigerian lawmaker Senator Buruji Kashamu in relation to his case with the United States.
Buruji Kashamu was once jailed in the United Kingdom contesting a request by United States authorities to have him extradited to face drug trafficking charges.
He was said to be travelling with a Benin passport and was found in possession of $230,000 by UK’s Metropolitan Police arrested. While in jail, he was said to have obtained information about the 9/11 attacks and tried to pass it over to the U.S. government. Now that he is dead, Ayo Shonaiya is happy that the United States cannot lay hold on him anymore and he’s finally free. Paying tribute to him on Twitter, the music executive and former Kwam 1’s manager wrote, “RIP Buruji Kashamu. The man with the most iconic sounding name. The US can’t get him now. Free at last.“
