A gas explosion has hit Isale-Inu, the road that connects Ajuwon Ogun State to Iju Ishaga, Lagos, leaving scores of people injured and properties burnt.
Tweeps took over the streets of Twitter to give reports of the incident which reportedly happened about 1 hour ago.
PUNCH reported that an eye witness Ikechukwu gave his account of the incidence, saying, “We just heard a loud sound around 03.30 pm and we suddenly began to see smoke. The explosion is massive and we are not sure of the casualties, but many people are injured.”

Confirming the incidence, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Agency, Nosa Okunbor urged Lagosians to stay calm as LASEMA Response Team is at Cele Bus Stop of the area. “On arrival at the scene, it was observed that there was a gas explosion. Further investigation revealed that a truck had a lone accident and exploded“, he said.

The inferno is being battled by the combined efforts of LASEMA Responders and Fire Team, LASG Fire Service, Nigeria Police Force and NSCDC. Dampening down ongoing.
