Alex Iwobi is one of the early arrivals ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup preparations.
The Arsenal forward arrived the Super Eagles Camp in Uyo – the state capital of Akwa Ibom – with his dad, Chuba, on Monday (May 21). As expected, Iwobi who landed at the Ibom International Airport via Air Peace flight from Lagos, was mobbed by excited fans who wanted pictures and were seeking to get his autograph. Iwobi singed a partnership deal with LG Electronics Africa during his recent stop in Lagos.
Nigerian national team caoch, Gernot Rohr recently released a 30-man provisional squad ahead of the World Cup in Russia, and he’s expected to submit a final 23-man list before the tournament kicks off next month. Spanish LaLiga side Atletico Madrid have arrived Uyo ahead of their friendly against the home-based Super Eagles team of Nigeria led by their Coach Diego Simeone. The match will be played at the Godswill Akpabio stadium on Tuesday, May 22.
