Armed robbers on Wednesday midnight, broke into one of the female hostels of the Rivers State University, robbed and sexually assaulted some of the students.
KOKO TV NG gathered that the criminals who were armed with guns and machetes entered “Hostel D” through the laundry room, where they broke the wall to gain entrance.
Items such as phones, laptops, Point of Sale machines, and other valuables were stolen.
Some reports claim two students were sexually molested but KOKO TV NG cannot confirm the exact number of students who were sexually assaulted.

Jibrin Yusuf was said to have carried out the act at Kanon-Haki village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Parading the suspect, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said the incident took place on August 2.
“The fact of the case is, on that fateful day, one Hassan Jibrin, the father of the late victim employed the services of the suspect to convey fertilizer from one of his farms to the other situated on the outskirts of the village while the victim was assigned to guard the fertilizer at one of the farms as her father attended to some labourers.
