The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON will be verifying and vetting all internet-based advertisements before it is exposed to the public.

This was made known in a statement believed to be released by the regulatory body, although the source has not been verified by the body or any of its social media accounts and website as at the time of this report. The letter was sent out on Twitter by a user identified as Ized Uanikhehi.

The letter making rounds on social media reads that APCON will show tolerance to any exposure of advertisements on and not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and websites without prior approval by the body. See the statement below:APCON To Vet All Social Media Adverts Before Display
