The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva has declared the ruling All Progressives Congress APC the strongest party in the nation, which will still hold the Presidency come 2023.
The former Governor of Bayelsa State said this today, Monday, as he joined Channels TV on News Night to talk about the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and other burning issues in the sector. According to him, the current APC-led administration, if compared with the previous ones, has to a large extent curbed piracy and pipeline vandalisation across the country. “I believe that if you compare what obtains now and what obtained in the past, I think it (piracy) is less now, Pipeline vandalisation is less than it used to be”, Channels reported he said. Hailing the ruling party, Timipre Sylva said he doesn’t see any party stronger than the APC in the country, and the party is the only one to beat. “I don’t see any party in Nigeria today that is stronger than APC… we are still, I believe, the party to beat and I believe in 2023, we will still have the presidency”, he said.
