Akeredolu Knocks APC Over NASS Leadership Zoning Formula

The Chairman of the Southern Governors Forum and Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has condemned the zoning arrangement by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for the 10th National Assembly principal officers.

KOKO TV reports that the APC National Working Committee zoned the positions of the Senate President of the 10th National Assembly to the South-south and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to North-west.

The leadership of the party reached the resolution at the NWC held at the national secretariat of the party on Monday in Abuja.

Reacting to the NWC decision, Akeredolu, in a statement on Wednesday, said the zoning formula represented “early signs of steps aimed at attempts to cabin the hard-earned Presidency for our leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, by a few individuals with eyes on ‘Aso Rock Power Buttons.”

The governor’s statement was titled, ‘Proposed APC zoning formula for NASS leadership positions is a skewed arrangement that reinforces injustice and enhances inequity”.
