One of the Chairmen of the ruling party All Progressive Congress APC has reportedly been arrested for raping two teenage girls of 12 and 13 respectively in Nasarawa.
Christopher Ogah, the APC ward chairman in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was said to have defiled the two girls at his house in Obi town.
As reported by Daily Trust, an eyewitness disclosed that Christopher Ogah had lured the girls into his building when they went to his house to fetch water. The witness added that it was not Ogah’s first time of engaging in such activity.
The Chairman of the Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammad Oyimoga Oyigye, also reportedly gave his piece of how he saved Ogah from being lynched by angry youths who caught him and got him arrested by the Police. Confirming the arrest, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, said he had directed that the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for a discreet investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court, adding that his administration is aimed at warning intending rapists off the act. “The police under my watch want to warn would-be rapist to have a rethink or face the wrath of the law. I am assuring the public of the police command’s commitment to arrest and prosecute anyone found wanting no matter how highly placed“, he reportedly said.
