Brazilian footballer Filipe Luis expects Antoine Griezmann to turn down transfer offers from Barcelona and Manchester United. Griezmann is being lined up as a mega-signing by both sides and United failed in a world record bid to snare the Atletico Madrid attacker last summer.
The France international has enjoyed a fantastic return to form in recent weeks with seven goals in his last two La Liga appearances, and Griezmann’s sparkling performances have sparked fresh speculation about his future. But, Atletico defender Luis does not believe Griezmann will look to leave the club, even though he admitted his team-mate has yet to make a final decision. ‘He is a player who is far above the level of his teammates, and I am convinced that he has not made any decision to move (or not) yet,’ Luis told Marca. ‘At Atletico he has a whole team playing for him and he is very happy. He is happy with the club and with the city, so I do see him here for many years.’
Seven of Griezmann’s 15 league goals this season have come in the last two games as the forward has rediscovered his lethal touch. A hat-trick against Sevilla last Sunday was quickly followed by a four-goal haul against Leganes three days later. Griezmann decided to reject a potential move to Old Trafford last summer after Atletico were hit with a transfer ban, and the 26-year-old then agreed to extend his contract to 2022 in June.
