Anthony Joshua may be the big-money star of British boxing – but the world heavyweight champion is still a man of simple pleasures during training camp. While the likes of Floyd Mayweather love to flaunt their fleet of flashy cars and mansions, Joshua prefers a more ‘humble’ life in the weeks before fight night. The IBF, WBO and WBA heavyweight king is currently preparing for his US debut in New York against Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller on June 1.
As he has since before taking gold at London 2012, AJ is putting in the grind in Sheffield, where he trains at the GB boxing base alongside the stars of tomorrow. It’s here, too, that he lives in the weeks before the first bell. Though Joshua is believed to have earned close to £100million during his unbeaten career, he still lives in a cosy, two-bedroom flat in camp. This week, he gave fans an insight into his life during training as he did his own version of MTV’s hit show Cribs and gave viewers a tour of his ‘humble abode’. ‘This is where it goes down,’ Joshua says in the video as he welcomes the cameras into his home.
