WBC champ Wilder believes he saw the alarm on AJ’s face in the bowels of Madison Square Garden before he lost his first professional bout. Ruiz stunned the boxing world last month stopping the previously undefeated Joshua in the seventh round of their June 1 meeting in the New York arena.

Joshua was dropped four times before the referee stepped in to wave the contest off handing Ruiz the win.

Nobody never wants to lose. We want to do great, but when we got so much on you and so much pressure, talking about the sparring guys dropping him in sparring and stuff, it’s a lot.”

Joshua has been back in the gym, working hard ahead of a rematch, but Wilder reckons he will regret losing the bout.

Wilder added: “When your time comes I understand he just froze at the moment of time. But we’ll see whether he can redeem himself in the second fight. I wasn’t shocked at all. I said it was going all 12 rounds, but don’t be surprised if Joshua loses either.”Anthony Joshua Panicked And Froze Before Andy Ruiz Jr Fight - WBC Champion Deontay Wilder 3Photo Credit: Getty
