Not only has the voice and actions of the Nigerian youths drawn the attention of the government, international media and bodies, but has also drawn down the ancestors and all of them have lent their voices for the #EndSARS movement.
The protesters at Lekki have brought back the “lost Okoroshi” to the protest ground this morning in the fight against the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad F-SARS, brutality.
As they gathered, requesting for the end of police brutality, a masquerade was sighted dancing with a placard which reads, “Stop killing our dreamers, EndSARS Now” as a background igbo music was heard playing. Read also: FG Accepts 5-point Demand Of #EndSARS Protesters
Okoroshi, Okoroshi Ojo and Okoroshi Oma represent the dualities of good/evil, female/male, white clouds/dark rain clouds, beauty/distortion, delicate features/large misshapen features, village/wilderness, order/chaos, clarity/mystery in Igbo tradition.
