The Anambra state government has moved swiftly to react to spreading allegations by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) members that military officers have invaded some schools and injecting students with the new monkeypox virus.
In a statement by the secretary to the state government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, the military officers were in some schools in Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area to carry out free medical outreach. It also stated that the state government has contacted the military to put on hold the medical outreach until the residents of the state are fully sensitised on the operation.
