Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, has reportedly shut Tower Primary School, Oba over their alleged involvement in examination malpractice during the 2023 transition Placement Examination.
Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Commissioner for Education, announced the closure after an investigation against the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) teacher, Precious Chibuzo, who was the supervisor at the Umuogali Community Primary School, Oba.
It was reported that the proprietress allegedly made her way into the examination hall after working with the invigilator, took a photo of the questions and started sending the answers to the candidates.

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, the ministry found that the reports from pupils of Triumphant Cross School, Oba showed that the proprietress of Tower Academy, Oba, connived with the students in the malpractice.
Egwuonwu said, “The proprietress sneaked into the examination hall, connived with the PTA teacher, took a photograph of the question paper, solved questions and supplied answers to the candidates.
“The proprietress, Kosisochukwu Igwe, who admitted committing the offence, pleaded for forgiveness, while the PTA teacher, Chibuzo Precious, who had earlier admitted committing the offence has been dismissed from the school.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, has directed a resit of the examination for all the candidates involved in the centre.
“The resit examination to be personally supervised by the commissioner has been fixed for Tuesday April 4, 2023.
“The Tower Primary School Oba remains closed till further notice, while the PTA teacher, Precious Chibuzo, should not be seen around the school anymore.”

Meanwhile, the state government has rewarded the pupils of Triumphant Cross Schools Oba, for reporting malpractice during the 2023 Transition Placement Examination. The Commissioner announced the reward on Monday.
