An Individual Can’t Rig Ekiti Election – INEC Officials Reply Fayose!

INEC officials debunk Fayose’s allegations that they’d been hired by APC’s Fayemi to rig Ekiti July 14 election.

Top officials of the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC), recently visited Ekiti State, where they organized a Pre-Election preparation workshop for Electoral Officers, Assistant Electoral Officers and Head of Departments.  Solomon Soyebi, who’s INEC National Commissioner in charge of Ekiti, Osun and Oyo states, said there “will be no room for excuses” as every polling unit across the state must be opened by 7 am.

Amina Zakari, who is in charge of Election Operations and Logistics, was also present at the workshop, which she took time out to address Governor Ayo Fayose’s allegations. She told reporters: “They (Fayose, PDP) should prove that beyond a reasonable doubt. I doubt it if an individual can rig an election when there are over 20,000 personnel to conduct the election.

“They should back their allegation with fact and figures. We (INEC) have nothing to hide. I see no reason why INEC would want to go back to bad old days. We are moving  forward  as we remained focused  to ensure a credible election that Nigeria will be proud of..”

Over the weekend, Fayose alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its flagbearer for the forthcoming election, Kayode Fayemi are desperately working with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials to rig the polls, scheduled to hold on July 14. “All the APC plans to do is to rig the election but we will reject that,” he noted, adding that “They got into power at the federal level because the process was transparent. I have told INEC not to rig for me because the people of Ekiti are solidly behind our candidate.”
