The 8th edition of Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) has come and gone yet people can’t stop talking about the outfits that dropped jaws on the red carpet of the grand finale which took place on the 14th of May.
One thing that can be said about this award ceremony is the fact that the majority of the celebrities that stepped on that red carpet raised the fashion bar in Africa to another level. So here are the most controversial AMVCA looks that people can’t stop speaking about;
BBNaija Ifu Ennada
The BBNaija star had everyone screaming when she stepped on the AMVCA red carpet in a black outfit made of masks. She ate up the entire look with her all-white eye contacts, black nails, and diva look. When called out for wearing such an extra outfit to the AMVCA, she said that her aim was not to win best dressed, but to bring the Met Gala to the AMVCA, and technically she did.

Toyin Lawani
The ace fashion designer who never fails to make a statement whenever she steps out did so once again as she rocked a ball gown with a horn attached to the front.
Denrele Edun
It is no news that Denrele is always dramatic and he reinforced this fact on the red carpet as he stepped out in an outfit made of lights. He definitely turned the lights on, no doubt.

Pretty Mike
Pretty Mike had on a cape that had a picture of the bustling city of Lagos on the back and a headgear that many are still asking what its purpose was. Beneath the cape, he had on an accessoried suit that made him look like the definition of glitz and glam.
Simi Drey
OAP, actress, and model Simi Drey had everyone screaming is that Kim Kardashian when she stepped out in a look-a-like outfit of the American reality TV star. Kim is known for her incognito look where she is covered head to toe. She rocked this outfit to the Met Gala back in 2021 and Simi said it’s time she did hers. 
Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe
The Yoruba movie power couple stepped out looking like a very beautiful purple plant and its stem. While Mo Bimpe had on a very large flower, Lateef was dressed in a suit, and standing side by side, they made a picture. While many have said NO to this look, this look is definitely Met Gala standard.
Nana Akua Addo
Nana Akua Addo is a German-born Ghanaian model, actress, and film producer and she came to the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards to make a statement as she stepped on the red carpet dressed in an outfit that had a Chinese geisha on it.
