The 9th edition of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on Saturday, May 20, 2023
The glamorous event which was held at the Eko Hotel is famous for celebrating talents in the film world across Africa by recognizing their outstanding performances in television, film, entertainment and now in digital content creation throughout Nollywood and the entire African content.

The award show which has been ongoing for the past 10 years, started on the 9th of March 2013, during the award show there have been so many awards to give out and while some have never won an award, some have bagged an award more than once, and there are those that won for the very first time.
Here is the list of first time winners at the just concluded AMVCA
KIE KIE
Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, fondly known as KIEKIE is a Nigerian talented TV personality, model, content creator and fashion icon who was nominated in the category of best online social content creator where she won the award, Being her first time of winning an AMVCA award she was ecstatic and grateful.
ELOZONAM
Former Bbnaija star and online social media influencer Elozonam bagged the AMVCA award as the best online social content creator with his “Back from the future” episodes.
BIMBO ADEMOYE
The beautiful and very talented actress has won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy for her role in the hit series “Selina” where she portrayed her character with her exceptional performance.

TOBI BAKRE
The former bbnaija star and Nollywood actor, Tobi Bakre has snagged the award for Best Actor in a Drama for his role in the series “Brotherhood.” where he embodied his role as Kalashinkov, making it his first time of getting an award at the AMVCA KENT EDUNJOBI HASSAN
The folk music star behind the soundtracks of some of Kunle Afolayan’s movies has snagged the Best Soundtrack for the movie Anikulapo. This is the first time he will be getting an AMVCA nomination and also winning the award.
