Amotekun Arrests 100 Cows In Ondo State

The South-West Security outfit, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps has reportedly arrested over 100 cows after its owners flouted the open grazing law in Ondo State. Amotekun arrests 100 cows in Ondo State

The Ondo State Amotekun Corps, Lt Adetunji Adeleye said the cows were seized after the Corp operatives responded to a distress call of cows blocking the Ilesa-Akure expressway.

Commander Adeleye during a press briefing said that the herdsmen who were in-charge of the cattles took to their heels upon sighting the Corp operatives, abandoning their cows.  He further noted that it took his men about 30 kilometres walk to shepherd the cows to the Amotekun Corp headquarters in Akure, the State capital.

He said;

“Our men controlled the cows to the headquarters of our office which was about 30 kilometers from the point they were intercepted.
“We should take note that our men are in all the 18 local government areas and we are on 24 hours patrol. We arrived at the scene promptly.”

The Amo Corp Commander also alleged that some kidnappers use illegal cattle grazing as a ploy to waylay and kidnap innocent residents of the state.
